Steve Villett named president of Bangor Breakfast Kiwanis
Bangor Daily News | Steve Villett, Chief Operating Officer of Beal College, was recently elected president of Bangor Breakfast Kiwanis, a part of Kiwanis International.
Villett has been a Kiwanis member for over three years. He joined upon moving to the area, wanting to find an organization that would allow him to get involved in the community.
During his term as President, Villett plans to continue to grow membership in Kiwanis. He also intends to focus efforts on the organization’s plan to build a playground on the Bangor Waterfront. As fundraising will be an important ingredient in the success of these initiatives, Villett said Kiwanis hopes to have their upcoming fundraising events ironed out by the end of October.
Since 1977, Bangor Breakfast Kiwanis has been actively involved with charity fundraising and community service. Among other initiatives, it partners with other area Kiwanis clubs to sponsor and organize Independence Day events in Bangor.
“Being President of a great international organization is a true honor,” said Villett. “We have a great group of volunteers in our organization that truly care about the community that they live in. I am truly blessed to be part of a wonderful organization and have wonderful people behind me to assist with our mission.”
